Treatment results may last as long as 6 months, but everyone is different. A full treatment of 6 sessions ensures the longest-lasting results. Even then, Dr. Ralston recommends that patients schedule maintenance appointments in sync with their body’s natural rhythms and needs.

Preparing for Emsella
What to do:
- Share your complete medical history with your provider.
- Wear light, loose clothing. Heavier fabrics may interfere with the treatment.
- Remove all electronics and metallic objects including cellular devices.
Post-Treatment Care
What to do:
- For longer-lasting results, maintain a daily exercise routine. Kegel exercises are incredibly effective.
- Rehydrate by drinking water regularly. Consistent hydration supports the regeneration and strengthening of pelvic floor muscle fibers.
- Maintain a consistent, nutrient-rich diet: eggs, walnuts, legumes, kale, salmon, and quinoa.
What to Avoid:
- Moderate liquid intake, as drinking excessive fluids may exacerbate urinary incontinence.
- Certain foods and drinks like coffee, tea, and drinks with bubbles may irritate the bladder.
- Stop smoking. Smoker’s cough may put pressure on the bladder, making it more difficult to control.
This noninvasive procedure feels strikingly similar to a Kegel exercise. Electromagnetic waves cause up to 12,000 pelvic muscle contractions in a single session.
No, it’s not painful. During treatment, Dr Ralston can adjust the intensity of treatment to reach a level that activates the pelvic floor muscles with little to no discomfort.
