Feel Splendid With Splendor X

Splendor X by Lumenis reduces the visibility of vascular lesions and veins. This device combines the Alexandrite 755 nm and Dd:YAG 1064 lasers to address a wider variety of concerns.

Patients find this device particularly comfortable with its unique cooling system combining cool jets of air with a cool-to-the-touch tip. SplendorX’s square laser is also more precise than its circular counterparts for vein treatment in McKinney.

Preparing for Vein Treatment

What to Do:

  • Wear loose, comfortable clothing to allow your provider access to your treatment area.
  • Take Aspirin or Tylenol to help with potential discomfort.
  • Apply sunscreen to protect your skin from damage prior to treatment.

What to Avoid:

  • Avoid alcoholic beverages and smoking.
  • Avoid direct sunlight to the treatment area.
  • Don’t apply oils or balms.

Post-Care Treatment

What to Do:

  • Drink water to stay hydrated and to promote efficient healing.
  • Wear loose clothing to avoid friction on the treated area.
  • Apply aloe vera or soothing balms for 3 days post treatment

What to Avoid:

  • Stay out of high-heat areas such as spas, steam rooms, or jacuzzis.
  • Avoid shaving the treated area for 3 days after treatment.
  • Avoid wearing makeup on the treated area for 2 days post treatment.

What to Expect

Our providers will talk with patients prior to their Splendor X treatment. Vascular (vein) concerns are complex ,so we’ll look at the patients’ treatment area together and review their medical history to determine which treatment best fits their needs. If the patient’s veins are particularly pronounced, their provider may recommend Splendor X to helps lessen their appearance.

On the day of treatment, patients will lie down and put on a pair of protective eye goggles. The device itself emits pulses of high-intensity laser energy in the form of light. As this light penetrates the skin, patients will feel a tingly sensation on the skin similar to a series of pinpricks. Each treatment lasts 45 minutes, with a recommended 6 for complete vein erasure.

Patients should expect slight redness and swelling immediately after treatment, but this fades quickly. Dermatology Center of McKinney’s skin-expert will lather a soothing balm onto their skin to ease discomfort. When all is said and done, the provider will help schedule the remaining Splendor X treatments and recommend post care to ensure the skin’s optimal recovery.
