Immediately following treatment, patients will enjoy a healthy and remarkable glow that lasts several days. After this stretch, important work is still happening beneath the surface as collagen production and oxygenated skin help to make the skin glow far beyond the first treatment. Sometime between the 30 to 60 day mark, patients may notice the results start to fade and they’re welcome to schedule another facial at this point.

Preparing for Glo2Facial
What to Do:
- Hydrate well before the appointment to ensure the skin is optimally pliable for treatment.
- Arrive with a clean face free of makeup or moisturizers.
- Discuss any allergies and skin sensitivities with your provider beforehand.
What to Avoid:
- Avoid any invasive procedures, such as injections or fillers, for at least two weeks prior.
- Stay out of direct sunlight and avoid tanning beds for a week before treatment to minimize sensitivity.
- Do not use exfoliating agents or retinoids for 48 hours prior to treatment.
Post-Treatment Care
What to Do:
- Continue to hydrate well to enhance the skin’s healing and rejuvenation.
- Apply a gentle moisturizer if the skin feels dry, and continue to use sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher daily.
- Resume normal skincare routines as advised by Dr. Ralston.
What to Avoid:
- Avoid washing the face or taking a shower until at least 6 hours after treatment. The serum and treatment need time to absorb into the skin.
- Refrain from using makeup, engaging in strenuous exercise, or exposing skin to heat for at least 24 hours.
- Refrain from saunas, steam rooms, or hot baths for at least 24 to 48 hours post treatment.
The Glo2Facials are so gentle some patients may doze off during treatment as the skilled applicator runs the Glo2wand over their skin. Some facials involve harsh chemicals and peels, but Glo2Facials avoid these measures and only administer natural serums and cleansers.
For the first few days, use gentle, non-irritating products and avoid any aggressive exfoliation or retinoids. The skincare specialists at Dermatology Center of McKinney will recommend specific products and a routine that complements the effects of the facial.
